Tecnalia incorporates the TWave T8 system into its R&D line for electronic fault detection

August 5, 2025

TECNALIA chooses the TWave T8 online CMS for an innovative R&D project in electric mobility, using mechanical vibration analysis to detect faults in power electronics.

We are pleased to announce a new collaboration with TECNALIA Research & Innovation, one of the most renowned technology centers on both the national and international stage.

The Clean Powertrain and Electrification team has chosen our online CMS TWave T8 for their R&D projects in the field of electric mobility, exploring a research line that is as promising as it is innovative: the detection of electronic faults through the analysis of mechanical vibrations.

Although this technique has traditionally focused on detecting mechanical faults, Tecnalia is pioneering a new approach by using it to also identify anomalies in power electronics. This groundbreaking strategy demonstrates how vibration analysis can go far beyond its conventional applications.

The TWave T8 is a perfect fit for this challenge, thanks to its combination of advanced diagnostic tools, a well-documented RESTful API, and web access without the need to install any software. This makes it easy to integrate data into environments like Mathworks and to carry out real-time analysis from anywhere.

We are convinced that this collaboration will drive the development of new monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions for the electric propulsion systems of the future.

Special thanks to the researcher Esther Altemir and the Tecnalia team for trusting in TWave technology!
