Early Detection of Abnormal Vibrations on a Screw Compressor with TWave T8

October 22, 2025

Thanks to the installation of a TWave T8, abnormal vibration levels on a screw compressor were detected early, preventing potential damage and costly downtime.

Today, we are happy to share another successful monitoring story.

Thanks to the installation of a TWave T8, an early rise in abnormal vibration levels on a screw compressor was detected. Upon inspection, the issue was traced to loosened pipe supports. Once these were tightened, vibration levels returned to normal. Investigations are ongoing.

Why does this matter?
This temporary condition caused an additional load that could have shortened the lifespan of certain components. Depending on the vibration levels on the piping, cracks could have formed, potentially leading to costly production downtime.

A very powerful feature of the TWave T8 is its ability to continuously integrate process data alongside vibration measurements. This capability enables a deeper investigation into potential root causes, helping to eliminate false leads and focus on the actual source of the problem.
